Recording & Use Tips!
There are a few things you can do to help you ensure you are getting the best recordings and use of iBeatThat!
Video Recording Tips
- Plan your shots in advance: Review the location and ensure you can find a single point to shoot the video from that will capture all the action
- Check your lighting: The best way to get a good recording is to ensure the angle you record your action puts the light onto your action and not behind it. As much as possible, make sure you have good sunlight and the sunlight is shining onto the action and is not coming from behind the action.
- Use the largest camera: Always use the largest megapixel camera on the phone for the video.
- Keep the image still as possible: It is best to prop the phone on something for the recording, if a friend will be holding the phone ask them to try to keep it as still as possible.
- Identify yourself at the start and end: Before showing the action, give a nice close up of yourself and then step back to do your action. When done doing your action be sure to step back in for a close up. This will help ensure for others you are doing the action.
- Always shoot in Landscape mode: This means with your camera turned sideways. This gives the widest frame for your action.
- Add notes: When you upload your recording you will have the ability to add some notes, so be sure to tell us details about your action!
- Have fun!: Don't be afraid to show some enthusiasm for what you are doing :-).
GPS Recording Tips
- Ensure location services is on: Make sure your phones location services are turned on.
- Start recording when you start moving: To ensure you get the best time, start the recording right when you start your action.
- Stop recording when you stop moving: Be sure to remember to stop your GPS recording right when you stop your action so you don't count non-action time in your GPS time & distance total.
- Add notes: When you upload your recording you will have the ability to add some notes, so be sure to tell us details about your action!
General Use Tips
- Vote on others: Winners are decided by votes, so if you see someones action and it looked good to you, give them a Thumbs Up vote!
- Video also available on You Tube: Recordings are also posted to You Tube when uploaded so you can watch them there as well.
